Full lot description

A fine Louis XV cabinet, Chinese lacquer and rosewood veneer, mounted with gilt bronze hardware. Finished with a marble top 'Breche D'Alep'.

The cabinet's interior has 5 drawers, of which the middle one folds open to display a lady's desk. The original keys for the cabinet are present, for the exterior door and for the interior drawer.

Signed under the marble top: Delorme for Adrien DELORME (1722-1791), but also signed Jansen:

The cabinet was purchased by the family at 'Maison Jansen' and because of that reason, the name Jansen is also stamped on the reverse. The cabinet was most likely restored at the workshop of 'Maison Jansen'.

Condition report

- Wear and damage to the gold in the lacquer in some places. Missing pieces.
- One loose piece of veneer in a drawer.
- The interior structure of the sides of the cabinet has been replaced an restored, probably during the 1920s. The old veneer on the sides of the cabinet was used again but restored. During this restoration, the original back panels and structure, underside and top of the cabinet have been re-used. This happened in the Maison Jansen workshop.

Otherwise in our opinion in good overall condition.
